Philadelphia Evacuation Routes and Emergency Facilities Interactive Map

This page enables you to familiarize yourself with evacuation routes and emergency facilities in your neighborhood through an interactive mapping application. It is important to learn about the evacuation routes and emergency facilities around where you live and work and to have an emergency plan in place for yourself and your family.

How to use this application to plan for an evacuation:
  • Identify different evacuation routes out of your neighborhood based on your available method(s) of transportation. Have a backup route in mind in case your primary route is inaccessible. Enter your address in the "search an address" box to start.
  • If you work in a high-rise office building in Center City or University City, identify your evacuation rallying point, and figure out how to get there from your building. Also speak with members of your organization to determine whether internal guidelines have been established for evacuations of your building, including a recommended route to your rallying point or a designated meeting place at your rallying point. Click the high-rise building to start.
How to use this application to plan for the summer heat:
  • Locate places to cool off in your neighborhood, including cooling centers and public swimming pools. Call to verify hours of operation before visiting. Click the sun to start.
  • Find an Operation Thirst Quencher site where you can stop to request a bottle of water. Operation Thirst Quencher sites are located at firehouses across the City. Click the sun to start.
