Citizen Corps was introduced as part of the USA Freedom Corps to address the need for volunteer efforts in areas of crime, natural disasters, and terrorism. Citizen Corps Councils coordinate volunteer initiatives at the state and local levels.
Citizen Corps Council of Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Citizen Corps Council is part of the national initiative to bring together local leaders from community organizations, government agencies, the private sector, and volunteer programs to promote community preparedness and volunteerism.
Our goal is to have all citizens participate in making Philadelphia safer, stronger, and better prepared for preventing and handling threats of terrorism, crime, public health emergencies, and disasters of all kinds.
Preparing Makes Sense. Get Involved Now.
It Starts with You. Become a Volunteer.
We all have role to play in keeping Philadelphia safe and secure. Take simple steps to be prepared for emergencies, such as getting trained in basic first aid and volunteering to help local emergency responders.
